Dr. Bill O’Neill Discusses Recovery Time from RV and LV Shock with Impella RP® Support

In this physician Q&A session, Dr. Bill O’Neill discusses recovery considerations as well as time to recovery following Impella RP® support for right ventricular (RV) and left ventricular shock. In this video, Dr. O’Neill also describes the rapid recovery (<24 hours) of patients with acute myocardial infarction receiving the Impella RP®. In addition, Dr. O’Neill explains how the Impella RP® enables discontinuation of alpha agonists in RV dysfunction, which may result in quicker ventricular recovery. Dr. O’Neill also discusses the varying recovery rates among patients with myocarditis or those receiving a left ventricular assist device.
