Dr. Ajay Srivastava of Scripps Clinic shares a shock case that highlights the importance of earlier and more comprehensive diagnosis. After a late diagnosis revealed a cardiac power output of less than 0.2, the patient received Impella CP® hemodynamic support and was weaned off all drips 24 hours later. However, multi-organ dysfunction syndrome in this and many other shock cases turned out to be the cause of death.
